Get your scuba certification! If you’ve always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts! The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world’s most popular scuba course. With this certification you can dive with your buddy diver to a maximum depth of 18 metres / 60 feet. During the course, you’ll make at least five pool dives and four open water dives under the supervision of your Instructor. It takes about 4 days to accomplish the course. From 10 to 14 years old you are certified as Junior Open Water Diver.
Learning to scuba dive requires both knowledge development (facts, principles, concepts) and dive skills (techniques, methods). PADI’s eLearning provides the knowledge development portion you need through interactive presentations: videos, audio, graphics and reading. Short quizzes let you gauge your progress, and review and correct anything you might happen to miss. This lets you move through the program efficiently and at your own pace.
The eLearning course is available for one year from the time of course registration. Though you must finish the online portion of the course within that time frame, you will have perpetual access to the training material.
Once you finish the eLearning portion of the course, our dive center is notified that you have completed it and that you are ready for the practical phase of the program. At the end of the eLearning program, you can print out your eRecord and bring a copy of it with you to our dive center. You’ll take there a short eLearning Quick Review to confirm your understanding of safety-related material from the course.
The PADI Open Water Diver Course online is the desktop and laptop-based version of the eLearning. It takes approximately 12-15 hours to complete.
The Touch is a tablet-based version of the popular Open Water Diver course, integrating the Open Water Diver manual curriculum, learning objectives, video clips, quizzes and Knowledge Reviews into a rich, interactive learning environment. Since the Touch is a tablet-based application, no internet connectivity is required to view course content. So, student divers can conveniently access the knowledge development portion of the course at any time from any location.
