Traveling is more complicated than before. It’s becoming harder to follow the rules and to understand what is acceptable and what doesn’t. As diving travelers and dive center managers, we take every precaution to protect ourselves, our customers, and our partners. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and following the WHO guidelines, Sporades Diving Group has established a specific “Travel Safe COVID-19 Protocol” of preventive measures. The objective is to enhance health, hygiene and reduce physical contact in order to ensure a safe travel experience and a safe working environment. We are in touch with members of the diving community all over the world to share updates and experiences to ensure the safety for all.
Our Covid-19 dive protocol is in accordance with the guidelines recommended by PADI and DAN aiming to reduce the risk of spreading the disease and helping travelers travel and dive with ease. Since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, we have trained consistently our staff on COVID disinfection and risk reduction procedures.
The key measure to prevent divers from acquiring COVID-19 is to prevent the virus from getting into diving equipment and other surfaces involved.
Disinfecting our Diving Gear
Sporades Diving Group has adopted prevention measures to properly sanitize and clean the equipment. After each dive, we use a solution of bleach to disinfect:
- Buoyancy Control Device (BCD)
- Regulator mouthpiece
- Inner surface of dive mask
- Snorkel
- Whistle
- Orally inflated Surface Marker Buoy (SMB)
Our dive center is regularly cleaned with disinfectants and our staff provides hand sanitizer in our facilities in Skopelos and Alonissos. Please do not visit a Sporades Dive Center office in Skopelos and Alonnisos if you are sick or start to feel symptoms of being sick. We will help you schedule your appointment at the local clinic.
Please note official travel info changes rapidly sometimes without prior warning. Each guest should research, comply with the current advisory documents, and travel entry/exit requirements of the Greek Government.
